Miriam Newman
1. I hear you have a true story novella about one of your many dog rescues. Tell us about the book.
Rescued is the true story of Dancer, the dog who began my “career” in rescue. It’s a saga of recovery, not only for the dog, but for me! Trying to recover from loss, I decided one day to go to my local shelter and adopt a dog…you know, some cute cuddly little thing…not a pit bull. We all know how that goes.
Rescued Blurb:
What do you do when you are alone in the world? If you’re a nice middle-aged lady with a social conscience, you go to your local shelter and adopt a rescue dog. Of course, sometimes it isn’t only the dog who needs to be rescued.

2. Tell us about your dog rescues.
I was raised with dogs, and when my husband and I moved to fox hunting country, I got familiar with hounds. Dancer was my first rescue. She hunted hamburgers. She also acquainted me with the dire need for fosters, and it wasn’t long after she died that I began, first with a hound, then with over a dozen to follow. Most got homes. But there were a few… Here are three of them (current residents) on my bed. The fourth runs at the sight of a camera, alas.
3. What other books have you written
I write fiction as a rule, primarily romance, much of it historical and/or fantasy. I’m a serious student of history, my library looks like a museum, and although romance is a main ingredient, I write realistic portrayals of Medieval-style warfare. Love, war and fantasy—that’s my thing. Romance is a strong element, but not “fluffy.” Most of my women are strong characters, and so are the men.
I have a seven-book series, The Chronicles of Alcinia, that traces three generations of a family caught up in that world. Most recently, I’ve begun a spinoff called The Sahra Chronicles, about which I’m very excited.

4. Tell us about your kudos or reviews.
Book I of The Chronicles of Alcinia, called The King’s Daughter, won a number of coveted awards. Now in its third printing, most of its reviews on Amazon were deleted on the current edition, but can be found on others. Full disclosure, it is a fantasy not intended for those seeking sweet or Christian romance.
5. How do you promote your books?
Readers can certainly check my author page, blog, BookBub, Facebook page and definitely look for blog tours on any new releases.

Miriam, I loved RESCUED–I got that long ago when we first “met” on FB! I am so sorry about the loss of your sweet Mushy. Love that you are so passionate about rescuing. If I had more space, I would have 3 or 4 dogs, but must be content with just my two. Your series looks wonderful–I will go to Amazon and check them out–sure hoping they are in paperback version, too! Hugs, my friend!
