Lyndi Alexander
1. I hear you have a shapeshifter in your novel, Betrayed. Tell us about the book.
Above all, it’s a love story between two very different beings, both of whom have the same wish—to stop a series of murders in the main city of Planet Andaan. Kylie Sanderson is the independent-minded daughter of a wealthy family who wants to do more with her days than play. She has put herself through school, over her father’s objection, to become an exobiologist and police detective with SIRT, the Scientific and Investigative Research Taskforce. When a series of women turn up dead and mutated like lizards, she is assigned the case. Griff is a reptile shapeshifter who is kin to those committing the murders, who wants his brethren to stop what they’re doing because it is wrong.
Of course these two are going to meet—but no one expected the fireworks that develop.

2. Why did you add a reptile shapeshifter to this book?
Funny story. My former husband and I were part of an online RPG [role-playing game] that featured characters of our own making. I had created Kylie and he created Griff as part of our repertoires, and they ended up having a great love story in the RPG. After we had separated, I wasn’t ready to let go of the characters yet. So I dreamed up a plot they could inhabit, and here they are!
I am actually a cat person IRL [in real life], having fostered a hundred or so kitties here in Asheville over the years. Several cat foster and adoption groups reside here, and so it is definitely a city where you can get the cat of your dreams!
3. What other books have you written?
In addition to several standalones, I have several series, including the Clan Elves of the Bitterroot, urban fantasy; Horizon Crossover, which is sci-fi (if you like Firefly you’ll like this!); and the Color of Fear series, which is post-apocalyptic YA [young adult] with no vampires or zombies! Check them all out at http://lyndialexander.wordpress.com
4. Tell us about your kudos or reviews.
All of these books have their share of 5-star reviews! I’ll share a few for Betrayed:
“The characters are well-written and relatable. Even with the shifters and aliens, each character has their own set of morals, personality, and emotions. I connected with Kylie and Griff most of all, though.”
“The romance is equal parts enemies to lovers and classic science fiction. The romantic tension is tempered by the action which had me whipping through the pages. An exciting sci-fi romance to be savored.” — N.N. Light Book Heaven
“Once again, Lyndi Alexander has delivered a fast-paced, gripping read. I blew through it in three days. Great world building, engaging characters, exciting plot. I always look forward to her books.” — Maggie Fry
“This is a book you can’t put down until the very harrowing end.” — Janyce Brawn
