1. I hear you have a dog in your novel, Second Chance Bride. Tell us about the book.
Yes, Tiger, a golden retriever is featured prominently in Second Chance Bride. I have a dog as a “character” in several of my books.
Second Chance Bride blurb:
Constance Quinn is a woman who has given up everything to reinvent herself as wealthy and successful, knowing all too well the price she paid for that. Now, she realizes that price was too high. When she meets Alex, the attraction is immediate and mutual. Despite her fear that he may discover her secret, she can’t resist him. Will Constance be able to keep her secret if she yields to her passion for Alex?
Follow Constance and Alex on their journey of love and redemption in Second Chance Bride, Book 2 of All Brides Are Beautiful.
“If you enjoy Hallmark Movies and love stories with a bit of suspense, you will find yourself captivated by this novel.” —Reader Review

2. Why did you add a dog to this book?
I love dogs. I especially love to hear about dogs who have been adopted. I’ve known a few, and they were each exceptional. Tiger in the book was named after the golden retriever who came to live with my daughter after she’d had back surgery, which changed her life—unfortunately not for the better. She needed the kind of love and affection a dog gives every minute of the day. Tiger’s love helped her get beyond the bitterness and helped her find acceptance and the determination to create as normal a life as possible. She loved Tiger and lavished affection on him until the day he passed. I still tear up when I write about Tiger.
After a year, my son-in-law surprised my daughter with Freddie, a golden doodle puppy who filled the emptiness Tiger had left. Our granddog Freddie is a delight who visits us often.
3. What other books have you written?
I’ve written about 30 or more books. Last Christmas is another book that stars Friday, a rescue dog that was found on a Friday and taken to a shelter. He’s adopted by a small-town police chief.
This year, I’ll publish Sex, Murder, and Mint Juleps, a book that stars Mozart, a Cairn Terrier, which is the breed that Toto of the Wizard of Oz was. In that book, the heroine inherits a huge old house and a dog.
4. Tell us about your kudos or reviews.
I’ve been fortunate to get several excellent reviews on Second Chance Bride from NetGalley and from readers. Here are a few snippets:
“This book kept me engaged all the time. I think the way you brought some of the characters together and change who these people were like was wonderful.” —J. for NetGalley
“Enjoyable HEA romance. Believable characters with distinct personalities. Thought-provoking and memorable dialogue. ‘Ah, you know what Graciella says about coincidence. It’s God’s way of remaining anonymous.’ and ‘He told me young dogs would always be adopted, but that this old dog would never find someone to love him if we didn’t take him. I told him that the dog wouldn’t have many years or maybe not even months of life left. He said that was an even better reason to adopt him, so he’d know love before he died.’ I look forward to other works by this author.” —Windrider
“Second chance at love well done! I wasn’t even going to read this after meeting Constance (aka wicked stepmother) in book 1. But am glad I did! 5 stars.” —Kindle Customer MKS
5. How do you promote your books?
Someone recently called me a hidden treasure. *LOL* The hidden part is probably correct. There has been so much turmoil in my family because of medical crises that I’ve done hardly anything in years to promote my books. I realized I was becoming invisible to the reading public, so this year I vowed to do something about this. Thank you, Marcia, for giving me that opportunity.
6. Where can readers learn more about your books and connect with you online?
After having my books in Kindle Unlimited for many years, I’m publishing everything wide now. Readers can find all of my books on Amazon of course (https://www.amazon.com/author/joanreeves) and eventually on all the popular online ebook sellers (https://books2read.com/joanreeves/). They’ll be popping up a few every week until they’re all published wide.
My audio books can be found on Audible (https://www.audible.com/author/Joan-Reeves/B001K8CIEW), and the books in French translation can be found on amazon.fr. This year, my books are also going into print.
