Each month, I interview authors or publishing insiders who have some form of "James" in their names or in their books. My May James Gang interviewee is Evernight Publishing author, James Cox!

1. Let’s get the most important question asked first: Why James?

James is my real first name. I have no idea as to the background of it. My family and I are not close. I am Irish, Italian and German.

2. What fiction genre(s) and/or sub-genre(s) do you write?

I currently write gay fiction, mainly science fiction. I’m bi-sexual and hope to one day enter into the male/female aspect of erotica.

Rian didn’t ask for trouble, he was just a geeky coward who managed to survive the virus that wiped out most of the world. 4. Is there a core story and/or a theme(s) in your books?

This is part of a series I’ve started. Book three of four about men finding love when the civilization ends. They battle hunger, lack of technology and a rise in homophobes.

5. Do you have a favorite hero in your books and why?

I could never pick just one. That’s like picking your favorite pet. They each have qualities that I enjoy and decided to make the focus of a story.

6. What do you enjoy most about being an author?

The release, no not that kind of release. Okay, well sometimes that kind, but what I really mean is the release of energy into a story. I can write my own ending, my own twists and I like to explore space from the safety of my home.

7. Do you have any awards, reviews or kudos you’d like to tell us about?

The Outlaw’s Lover was named Book of the Month at The TBR Pile.

8. How do you promote your books and your author brand?

I write. I flirt. I try to entertain.

9. What is your next project?

I have been a busy bee. My story, Handsome Hero Wanted, will be out in May. That's a wild adventure about five men in one harem to determine the next heir to the throne.

I also have A Rampant Hunger coming out in June. That’s about a man trying to save the man he loves who has become infected by an alien creature.

Then there’s the fourth and last book in "The Manlove at the End of the World" series. The Virus Maker is almost done!

10. Do you have a bit of wisdom you’d like to impart or a favorite quote?

“There’s always a story.” – Richard Castle. You can never go wrong with a Richard Castle quote! *S*
